2018 Annual Report: Disruption by Design.
For the Institute of Internal Auditors, disruption, which is often viewed in a negative light, is seen as something to embrace, as a force to be harnessed to push the organization to greatness. Illuminated within the pages of the 2018 annual report is the groundwork laid to create a more efficient and effective operation that enhances the experience of The IIA’s global membership, which surpassed the 200,000 milestone in early 2019.
2017 Annual Report: Blueprint for the Future
For The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), 2017 was a year of laying the groundwork for transformation, of envisioning all the ways to provide better service, tools, and resources to its members in a way that is directed and available. Though it may be universally understood that nonprofit associations exist to benefit their members, The IIA’s more than 190,000 members spanning the globe can rest assured that their organization is intensely focused on its core value to put members first.
2016 Annual Report: Celebrating Successes. Embracing Challenges.
In 2016, staff and management at The IIA global headquarters collaborated on the adoption of a new set of Core Values — put members first, do the right thing, commit to shared success, and work smart. These Core Values focus on serving the best interests of our stakeholders, earning trust, and using resources thoughtfully. And they call for embracing challenges and constructive feedback, learning from missteps, displaying courage and passion, and seeking innovation.

Supported by the strong commitment of volunteers and staff, The IIA is making great strides toward achieving its goals, urging members to continually exceed stakeholder expectations and break out of their traditional comfort zones; provide even more value to their organizations; offer foresight, not just insight or hindsight; serve as trusted advisers to the board and senior management; audit at the speed of risk; and help organizations be successful. 2014 Annual Report: Agents of Change
The IIA works to position our members as agents of change who offer insightful, proactive, and future-focused solutions for their organizations and stakeholders. In response to the increasing demands and heightened expectations placed on our members, we provided additional opportunities for professional growth; enhanced the tools that enable internal auditors to add value to their organizations; collaborated with our global network of affiliates to develop and expand IIA membership; and continued to invest in the future of our profession.
2013 Annual Report: Preparing for a Promising Future
In 2013, The IIA realized record-breaking conference attendance and new certifications numbering in the thousands globally. But, our crowning achievement was the commitment and investment made to ensure a thriving and impactful future for the association, our members, and the internal audit profession. Indeed, 2013 was about laying the groundwork — elevating internal auditors’ professionalism, building relationships, and expanding our reach and influence on behalf of our more than 180,000 members around the world.

2010 Annual Report: Positioned for Success
The Institute of Internal Auditors, now in the midst of celebrating its rich 70-year history as the leader of the internal audit profession, worked determinedly and successfully throughout 2010 to reassess, enhance and reposition itself to meet its members’ rapidly growing and evolving needs.
