Donald E. Ricketts Research Award

In 1996, the Internal Audit Foundation named this research award in the memory of Dr. Donald E. Ricketts. Ricketts had been a member of The IIA and the Internal Audit Foundation Board of Research Advisors since 1977, and chairman of the Chapter Research and Doctoral Dissertation Committee since its inception. His leadership and support of this research program was instrumental in the ongoing success of the program.

Each year, the Internal Audit Foundation sponsors a research competition for IIA chapters and Institutes. Each project is evaluated on:

  • Quality of work
  • Interest and practical value
  • Topic originality
  • Basis for further research
