The IIA's 2017 Global Council

Global Council 2018 — Panama City, Panama

Year-after-year Global Council has proven to be a valuable platform where IIA leaders from around the world gather to collectively address the many needs of our members and stakeholders to discuss strategies to advance our profession, and participate in peer-to-peer networking opportunities.

What to expect at Global Council 2018:

  • INTERACTIVE discussion sessions on strategic initiatives and other significant topics of global importance
  • CONNECT with Affiliate and IIA Global leaders to share leading practices to maximize impact and achieve goals
  • EXPERIENCE Panama and its culture through an exquisite gala dinner and sight-seeing tour

Who should attend?

Affiliate leaders who want to make valuable contributions to the strategic direction of The IIA’s global organization.

To support the strategic importance of Global Council, we seek representation from all Affiliates at this event. Therefore, we ask that you please send at least one representative, but no more than two, to the 2018 Global Council in Panama. The deadline to designate your representative(s) and complete registration is 1 December 2017.

Each Affiliate is invited to register up to two (2) delegates, with one (1) designated as the official representative.

All delegates must be registered in advance using the link below. Registration includes participation in the welcome reception, Global Council sessions, gala dinner, and cultural tour. There is no registration fee for delegates to participate in these events. Delegates are responsible for all travel costs, hotel accommodations, and incidentals.

The deadline to complete your registration is 1 December 2017. Contact for any questions. If you are planning to bring a guest, please make special note of the Guest Registration and Fees section below.

Hotel Accommodations

IIA Global has arranged for Global Council delegates to enjoy special discounts on accommodations at the beautiful Hilton Panama Hotel. Each delegate is responsible for his/her accommodations. Below are the discounted room rates:

​Single (King Bed): ​$169.00 per night
​Double: ​$184.00 per night
​Triple: ​$204.00 per night

Reserve Hotel


  • The deadline to make your hotel reservation is 3 January 2018.
  • Upon booking your reservation, your credit card will be charged a non-refundable deposit for one night.
  • Please inform the hotel upon arrival if your expected departure date is different than your reserved departure date to avoid an early departure fee.


If you require a Visa to attend the conference, please complete the Visa Request Letter form by no later than 1 December 2017. Please note, depending on your country and the presence of the Panamá Embassy or Consulate in your area, it may take anywhere from 2 to 6 weeks to receive your visa so you are encouraged to submit paperwork as soon as possible. If you are unsure if a visa is needed, please visit Travisa.

Guest Registration and Fees

All guest must pre-register to participate in the Global Council social activities listed below by no later than 8 December.

Delegates may bring one guest – at no cost – to participate in the social activities. However, fees apply for each additional guest as listed below:

  • Sunday Welcome Reception and Monday night gala dinner – US$200 (per additional guest)
  • Cultural Tour – US$100 (per additional guest)
