​IIA-Australia Helps Draft New ASX Guidelines
New corporate governance principles encourage disclosure of the structure and role of internal audit

IIA-Australia plays a key role in developing new corporate governance principles that include a recommendation that ASX-listed entities disclose the structure and role of internal audit. Notably, the guidelines recommend that, if there is no internal audit function for a listed company, a disclosure be made for how the board will ensure there is continual evaluation and improvement of risk management and internal control. Corporate Governance Principles and Recommendations 3rd Edition is intended to help better identify investment risk and create greater value for shareholders. The guidelines, released 27 March 2014, were drafted by The ASX Corporate Governance Council, comprising IIA-Australia and 20 other Australian professional bodies. Read more
