Celebrating 15 Years in Latvia
IIA–Latvia recently celebrated its 15th anniversary with a grand celebration that was attended by both long-standing and new members for a reunion and acquaintance with the profession colleagues. Māris Graudiņš, who was the first chairman of the IIA-Latvia board, had a moment of reflection sharing “I'm glad to see the Institute's activities have evolved, how many members have joined together to strengthen the auditing profession. I wish you to continue to evolve to take on new challenges and not to stop. Even if it is a challenge to change the scope, then take with experience and use it on a daily basis.”
Those words seemed to resonate with attendees as the importance of collaboration, communication, and sharing was discussed as it is evident those are the basis for sustainable growth and improvement of the internal audit profession.
Current chairman of IIA Latvia board, Kārlis Majevskis said “It was a big pleasure to become a chairman of the IIA–Latvia during its 15th anniversary. I was excited to meet and talk to founders of the Institute during the event. Now it is very important to continue our way on paved road and keep our Institute as a main educational and knowledge sharing institution for internal auditors and related professions.”
