IIA–Slovenia Board Member Joins IIA Facilitators Training in Orlando

The IIA recently hosted a group of facilitators for training services from The IIA’s Global Training Marketplace. Among those in attendance was IIA–Slovenia board member Irena Novak, CIA, CRMA.IIA–Slovenia board member Irena Novak, CIA, CRMA.

Since 2006, IIA–Slovenia has been the local advocate for the internal audit profession in Slovenia. Even in the unstable economy, IIA-Slovenia recognizes development opportunities for its more than 200 members that could elevate the internal audit profession in the local community.

To maintain and even raise the level of its members’ expertise, IIA–Slovenia opted to participate in The IIA’s Global Marketplace Training program. Through this program, IIA–Slovenia plans to enhance its member’s skills by providing additional knowledge, competences and professionalism necessary to become an important agent of change in Slovenian economy.

Of the training, Novak said she “…found The IIA’s facilitators training very useful and a pleasant experience and wants to thank IIA representatives for including me among the participants.” Novak is also looking forward to sharing the materials with her Slovenian colleagues and hopes that she will have a chance to present also outside of her country.

Irena Novak is an internal auditor with more than 20 years professional experience including auditing and business advisory expertise from one of The Big 4 firms as well as operational knowledge of internal auditing practices in Slovenian government sector. Just following the facilitators training, Novak is transitioning to Slovenian Bank Asset Management Company, where she will be sharing her knowledge and expertise as chief audit executive (CAE).
