During the three-day event, Middle Tennessee State University was welcomed as the newest school to join the IAEP program, and students participated in career development sessions, team case study competitions, and onsite interviews with leading companies such as KPMG, Deloitte, Vanguard, Liberty Mutual, and Southwest Airlines. Educators collaborated during 11 seminars, roundtables, and panel discussions on topics including The IAEP Curriculum and Program Sustainability.

“The IAEP Leadership Conference was a great experience for my students and for me,” said Sarah Bee, senior lecturer at Albers School of Business and Economics at Seattle University. “The internal audit profession is built on relationships, and this conference encouraged students to build those relationships with internal audit students from around the world. My students also had the chance to build their leadership skills through a series of valuable workshops.  For me, interacting with other IAEP universities creates efficiencies across programs as we share and implement best practices.”

The conference was made possible through donations from participating organizations to the Internal Auditing Academic Advancement Fund (IAAAF), which collects and distributes funds to support awareness and teaching of internal auditing in post-secondary educational institutions worldwide. In 2014, the IAAAF approved more than $75,000 in grants to participating IAEP schools to assist in enhancing and further developing the IAEP curriculum.

About The Audit Education Partnership Program
