New Study Aims to Enhance CGAP Certification Program

The IIA is conducting a global market study to better understand the specialized needs of auditors in the government (or public) sector around the world. This will help with a fundamental review of the Certified Government Auditing Professional® (CGAP®) program to enhance the certification and its value to professionals in government auditing.

The survey seeks to understand the ways in which working in the government sector impacts the work of the internal auditor and asks participants about the operational environment, its requirements, and its constraints. This includes the use of professional standards, access to and requirements for training and development, and other elements specific to the sector.

Survey feedback will help us ensure the certification program more clearly addresses the needs of government and public sector practitioners, providing effective and responsive products and services to meet those needs. We want to understand how these features vary at the local, national, and international levels of the public sector around the world. Your participation is very important to us.

The survey will only take between 10 to 15 minutes to complete and remains open until 2 May 2014.
