The Next Generation of Internal Audit: Robert Truelson
Meet Robert Truelson, a recent graduate of Louisiana State University – an Internal Auditing Education Partnership (IAEP) Center of Excellence.
In December 2014, Rob earned his Master of Accounting, specializing in Internal Audit. His advanced insights on the profession demonstrate his commitment to internal audit. In fact, his long-term goals for his career go far beyond the boardroom. Truelson notes:
My dream job would have to be a university professor. I think there's a ton of opportunity in the field of accounting and internal auditing. It's a dream in that there's a lot of work involved in becoming a professor, but it's definitely possible and something students in my position to keep an open mind for.

News Around The Internal Audit Education Partnership Program
Recently LSU celebrated 30 years of internal audit education. In 1985, The IIA began discussing plans to develop an innovative educational program in internal auditing, endorsing Louisiana State University as the pilot school. It was the first university-based internal audit training program and has become a model for similar programs for universities around the world. Over the years, the LSU Center for Internal Auditing (LSUCIA) has educated and trained thousands of internal audit-ready students with the tools needed to succeed.
