Quality Assessment Manual Update Released

New Quality Assessment Workflow supports CAE Performance

LAKE MARY, Fla. (27 July 2017) — The Internal Audit Foundation released an updated Quality Assessment Manual for The Internal Audit Activity. It conforms to the changes in the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing (Standards).

The manual’s content and format were improved using surveys and interviews with key quality thought leaders in the internal audit profession. A new quality assessment workflow, depicted in a Quality Assessment Process Map, facilitates external quality assessments and helps chief audit executives (CAE) focus their efforts to establish their quality assurance and improvement program (QAIP).

Other changes include additional advisory elements that identify successful internal audit practices. With this edition comes a clearer distinction between assessment types, a new document facilitating the review of work papers, a new planning process clearly differentiating between planning and fieldwork activities, a revised reporting format, and user-friendly appendices.

The new edition comes with an e-book version and a USB that has all the tools necessary to conduct a Quality Assessment.
